ASSP Offers Guidance on Mindfulness for Safety Professionals

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) recently published guidance on how safety professionals can practice mindfulness in order to reverse stress and increase safety. There is a strong correlation between burnout and worker injury rates, so mindfulness techniques are helpful in promoting safety.

The article states that mindfulness relies on a solid foundation of eating well, hydrating, sleeping well, resting throughout the day, relaxing your mind, playing, and engaging in relationships and conversations. When you struggle with mindfulness, try doing different movements to help you focus on different things, or doing something you feel are confident about and can accomplish with ease.
