The Appeals Board is responsible for considering appeals by directly and materially interested persons that have exhausted all other appeals available to them through ANSI and who have been or will be adversely affected by a decision of ANSI. The Appeals Board is the final level of appeal within ANSI.
The Appeals Board reports to the Executive Committee of the ANSI Board of Directors and follows the ANSI Appeals Board Operating Procedures.
The Appeals Board considers appeals regarding the implementation of the following ANSI procedures:
The Appeals Board comprises no less than nine and no more than eighteen ANSI members, appointed by the Chair of the Board of ANSI with the approval of the Board of Directors. The members are chosen to broadly reflect the various categories of ANSI membership to the extent practicable, and must abide by the ANSI Conflict of Interest Policy and Code of Conduct.
The resident counsel of ANSI (or, in their absence, outside ANSI counsel) serves as a non-voting, ex-officio member of the Appeals Board.
ANSI staff should be contacted for questions regarding the Appeals Board or any other ANSI oversight committees and activities. Individual committee members listed here should not be contacted directly concerning ANSI business.
Access to Appeals Board member documents is restricted to Appeals Board members only.
