8/25/2022

Comments due September 16

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) is seeking comments on a new draft project description, Mitigating AI/ML Bias in Context: Establishing Practices for Testing, Evaluation, Verification, and Validation of AI Systems.

Managing bias in an artificial intelligence (AI) system is critical to establishing and maintaining trust in its operation. To tackle the complex problem of mitigating AI bias, this project will develop guidance and recommended practices that help promote fair and positive outcomes to benefit users of AI services and in the future, consider real-world applications such as school and hiring decisions.

Comments are now being accepted until September 16, 2022, through a submission form on the project’s landing page. More information and the project’s full draft description are also available on the project page.

The NCCoE is a part of the Applied Cybersecurity Division of NIST’s Information Technology Laboratory.
