Register for an International Workshop on Guidelines for Live Streaming Marketing Service

12/16/2021

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages relevant stakeholders to attend an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) workshop focused on the development of an International Workshop Agreement (IWA) on “Guidelines for live streaming marketing service.”

Hosted by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China (SAC), the workshop will be held virtually, on March 14-16, 2022, and June 22-24, 2022. The two sessions will be complemented by additional online correspondence and one or more web workshops. The registration deadline is February 8, 2022, and participants must register using this form.

Background on Live Streaming Marketing Services
The digital economy continues to prosper, and marketing continues to shift from traditional to digital. Live streaming marketing, a popular method companies are using to achieve digital marketing goals, has evolved from a trendy phenomenon into a full-blown marketing strategy used by brands and businesses in nearly every industry.

The aim of this IWA is to develop a standard by refining the practice of live marketing companies on a global scale. The IWA document would aim to:

  • Establish a live streaming marketing service model, and allow live streaming video, network technology, and marketing to be integrated seamlessly
  • Help companies use live streaming as a marketing tool to facilitate online businesses, access audiences with low cost and multiple channels, build brand awareness, and realize business strategies
  • Meet the growing consumer demand and provide the audience with a transparent and truthful buying experience
  • Provide suggestions for companies to recruit and hire live streaming marketing talents

Access the IWA invitation for additional details.

What is an IWA?

An International Workshop Agreement, or IWA, is a document developed outside the normal ISO committee system to enable market players to negotiate in an “open workshop” environment. A member body typically administratively supports IWAs. The IWA may serve as a starting point in developing standardization work that will support enhanced safety in the consumer market.
