People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.
The Water Quality Association (WQA), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced two new leadership changes in its membership department.
Wes Bleed has been named WQA's membership, marketing and communications director, promoted from his previous role of marketing and communications director. Mr. Bleed leads the association's marketing and communications strategy, website content, social media, podcasts, and advertising, as well promotion for all of the organization's programs and services. In this expanded role, he will take on additional responsibilities for directing and administering the membership department.
WQA associate executive director of member & public engagement Tom Bruursema said Mr. Bleed was chosen for the new role because of his leadership skills and experience; demonstrated strategic and creative abilities in delivering membership value, benefits, and sales initiatives; and high level of existing engagement with WQA and industry stakeholders.
Heather Duve has been appointed membership and development associate director. Previously serving as WQA's membership relations manager, Ms. Duve has led member-focused committees and sections, created and implemented the WQA Business Boot Camp and the Business Excellence Programs, and achieved year-over-year record sponsorship participation for WQA events. In her new role, Ms. Duve will assume further responsibilities including administering the organization's membership recruitment and retention programs, and supporting members and member committees in establishing membership standards.
"We're very pleased to welcome Wes and Heather to new roles on WQA's leadership team," said Mr. Bruursema. "Both are already key team members at WQA, and their collaboration will foster even greater member engagement and services to our more than 2,500 member companies."
