Your 2025 Guide to ANSI's Community Resources

1/03/2025

ANSI staff wishes its members, stakeholders, and the greater standardization community a happy and healthy 2025! The Institute is pleased to highlight a few valuable resources—many launched in 2024—that continue to have impact on the greater standardization community as we step into the new year:

Get a Global News Roundup with Three Standards-Focused Resources

  • The International Policy and Standards Alert delivers key updates on emerging global standardization policies. Recent coverage includes analysis of the EU Standards Strategy, Brazil’s global AI framework, and U.S. partnerships with developing nations on emerging technologies. ANSI members can email [email protected] to receive the latest digest and subscribe for future issues.

  • Launched in mid-2024, the ANSI in Africa Newsletter publication, intended to share information on Africa-specific standards topics, policy decisions, and trade matters on an ad-hoc basis, includes two distinct versions: a Special Publication available exclusively to ANSI members, and a newsletter geared towards an African audience and available for all interested stakeholders.

  • Re-launched in 2024 with a fresh new look, the ANSI in China Newsletter continues to serve members with policies and regulation trackers, technical activities, trade matters, and other information of interest. Stay tuned for the newest issue this month, or access the English version of the Fall 2024 newsletter, available exclusively to ANSI members. The Chinese version is freely available online for a China-based audience and other interested stakeholders.

Building Bridges with Consumers to Boost Participation Efforts

Did you know: The Consumer Participation Fund provides financial resources to support consumer participation in the development of standards—with a primary focus on health and safety standards?

Learn about the critical connection between consumers and standards on ANSI’s consumer webpage, which showcases the value of member involvement through Q&As with leading consumer advocates. Read: Transforming Tragedy into Change: Reflections from a Consumer Standards Advocate Mom in addition to other consumer Q&As and engage in ANSI’s ongoing series of free webinars.

Preparing the Next Generation for Careers in Standards

Supporting the next generation of standards professionals is crucial. ANSI helps pave the way to make the journey to a standards career smoother with various resources on ANSI.org, including its newly updated Leadership Strategies and Skills - The Fundamentals course that hones essential skills for developing consensus and managing technical activities within ISO and IEC.

Other educational resources include a new video series that showcases the work of the U.S. National Committee (USNC) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)’s and expert testimonials about the value of being involved.

Look out for more resources to be launched and updated in the coming months, including a course on the roles and responsibilities of working group experts, and another to help project editors and leaders navigate the distinct stages of standards development.

Until then, check out and share our educational programs, which support standards learning for every knowledge level.

Standards (Continue to) Boost Business

Originally developed by ANSI over 10 years ago, the Institute’s Standards Boost Business resource was revamped in 2024. The new and improved web resource includes all-new case studies and downloadable slide decks to illustrate the strategic importance of standards participation to decision makers.

These are just a few of the growing resources available for our community. If you have news to share with ANSI to consider for publication in 2025, please email the ANSI communications team at [email protected].

We wish you all the best for this year and beyond!
