ANSI Forms New Technology Consortium Council for Collaboration with Consortia Community

7/03/2025

ANSI is pleased to announce the formation of a new Technology Consortium Council (TCC), bringing together representatives of leading consortia in the standardization community to share views and best practices, collaborate, receive relevant information, and interact with other standards developing organizations (SDOs).

The first meeting of the TCC was held virtually on June 26, with participants discussing practical matters related to standards development and participation, domestic and international policy issues impacting the broad standardization ecosystem, and the plans for the next iteration of the United States Standards Strategy (USSS). A roundtable discussion allowed TCC members to explore further topics including the impacts of current administration policies and how members are adapting to changes.

The TCC will meet bi-annually, with calls aiming to:

  • provide a forum for discussion and networking among senior managers of leading consortia;
  • provide a mechanism for consortia representatives to meet and exchange views with ANSI and SDO representatives regarding timely matters of common concern;
  • identify issues of common interest regarding evolving U.S., EU, China, and other governmental policies that may impact technical standards developers and/or their members; and
  • identify possible opportunities for action.

Membership is by invitation only; any non-profit, collaborative membership organization that develops and/or promotes standards or best practices in standards development is eligible to be represented on the TCC.

Interested stakeholders can contact Christine Bernat, ANSI associate director, standards facilitation ([email protected]) for more information.
