The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will host a webinar to provide an overview of the recently published NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0 and the CSF Small Business Quick Start Guide.
Register for the session, to be held on March 20, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. ET.
NIST’s CSF was initially released in 2014 as a result of the Executive Order, "Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity." Intended to be a living document that is refined, improved, and evolves over time, the Framework was created through collaboration between industry and government.
CSF 2.0, released in February 2024, reflects updates to core guidance for industry, government agencies, and other organizations to manage cybersecurity risks. Ideally, the CSF will be used to address cybersecurity risks alongside other risks of the enterprise, NIST reports. The cybersecurity risks include those related to financials, privacy, supply chain, reputational, technological, or risks physical in nature.
Released as a supplement to CSF 2.0, the Small Business Quick Start Guide was created for small- to medium-sized businesses and includes resources to kick-start their cybersecurity risk management strategy.
The webinar will provide a 30-minute overview of the Small Business Quick Start Guide and will highlight other new CSF resources. The session will include 15 minutes for audience questions/feedback.
