Submit Call for Proposals By May 13; Virtual Workshop In Q3 2022 For U.S.-Philippines Cold Chain Logistics And Management Standards

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is currently calling for proposals and expressions of interest from the private sector for the next workshop under the U.S.–Indo-Pacific Standards & Technology Cooperation Program (STCP), slated to be hosted virtually in Q3 2022. The workshop will focus on cold chain logistics and management standards, as well as other agribusiness-related topics in the Philippines.

ANSI welcomes feedback and workshop proposals covering cold chain standards and conformity assessment issues that the workshop can address while building relationships and sharing knowledge of best practices with Filipino counterparts. Companies and organizations are encouraged to reach out to ANSI as soon as possibleto discuss any ideas or questions via conference calls, and to submit written feedback by May 13, 2022.

The STCP is sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and coordinated by ANSI. It convenes government officials and industry representatives from the U.S. and Indo-Pacific region to share important commercial and industrial standards information and practices, enabling decision-makers to develop and implement standards, testing protocols, and regulatory procedures that align with international best practices. The focus of STCP workshops includes, but is not limited to, green technologies, transportation, smart cities, medical devices, information and communication technology (ICT), and energy. Events in 2021 and 2022 addressed key issues including cybersecurity, data protection, 6 GHz spectrum band allocation in Thailand, and 5G network standards in Vietnam.

Due to COVID-19 travel and meeting restrictions, all the remaining workshops in 2022 will be held virtually.

Interested private sector organizations are invited to review and complete the commercial benefit questionnaire (CBQ). The CBQ requests information on the companies’ relevance to cold chain logistics and management, their issues and priorities in standards and conformity assessment, their current work status in the Philippines, and what they hope to achieve through the workshop. The workshop CBQ and other information can be found on the program website.Completed CBQs and any questions can be directed to [email protected].
