People on the Move

10/15/2021

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SCC), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has appointed Andrew Jamieson as vice president, standards. In this role, he leads the organization’s standards development function and works with staff to set the direction of standards management and development.

Prior to joining the PCI SSC, Mr. Jamieson was director of technology and security for UL. He has worked for a number of different companies creating new technologies in the areas of payment systems and consumer products, and has written payments and security-based patents that have been granted around the world. Mr. Jamieson is also an adjunct professor at NYU.

“We are excited to have someone with Andrew’s distinguished background and experience to lead in this important role,” said Lance Johnson, executive director of the PCI SSC. “Andrew’s impressive experience working in payments, embedded systems, and emerging technologies will make him an invaluable asset to our organization and our industry.”

IAPMO, an ANSI member and audited designator, has announced that Nimish Shah, Ph.D., is the new managing director of IAPMO India.

Previously, Dr. Shah was managing director of India’s Toilet Board Coalition, where he helped to shape the nation’s program with a low-cost operating model. He was a knowledge partner for the Indian government, helping to set up a Global Sanitation Centre of Excellence. He also has 25 years of experience working with British multinational consumer goods company Unilever. There, he led the Unilever R&D South Asia’s Department of Microbiology, and served as director of Unilever Global R&D’s Safety and Environmental Assurance Center (SEAC).

“I’m excited Nimish has joined the IAPMO team,” said Tom Palkon, technical services chief officer for IAPMO. “His international experience and industry knowledge will not only elevate our activities in India, but his expertise will galvanize the global initiatives for The IAPMO Group."
