Opportunity to Participate: U.S.-India SCCP II Virtual Standards Workshop: The Future of Electric Vehicles in India

2/08/2021

Calling all electric vehicle (EV) and smart city experts: The American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP), funded by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), will host a three-part virtual workshop dedicated to promoting smart cities through advancing EV development in India.

Virtual sessions on February 18, 23, and 25 will offer U.S. and Indian stakeholders the opportunity to share expertise on EV charging and power grid infrastructure challenges. The exchange will help India meets its development goals and provide U.S. businesses with potential investment opportunities.

The government of India is incentivizing EV sales that will require new investments in quality power grid and charging infrastructure to support domestic growth of its EV market. According to Centre for Energy Finance, the Indian EV investment opportunity for charging infrastructure and battery manufacturers amounts to 15.2 billion USD. India’s commitment to high-quality, climate-smart transportation solutions is generating new business and partnership opportunities for the U.S. and Indian industry.

The workshop will consist of three two-hour sessions addressing topics important to EV standardization, regulations, and the advancement of EV development in India:

  • Session 1: February 18, 2021 at 7:00 a.m. (EST)/5:30 p.m. (IST)

  • Session 2: February 23, 2021 at 7:00 a.m. (EST)/5:30 p.m. (IST)
