AdvaMed Re-Launches Med Device Network to Support Administration's National COVID Plan
The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) recently unveiled a newly repurposed platform, the Med Device Network, to help device manufacturers locate and partner with thousands of component part manufacturers and sellers during the COVID pandemic.
The web-based platform aims to assist government with potential supply shortfalls, and will support manufacturing and delivery of the 12 critical medical supplies identified in the Biden Administration’s National COVID plan.
“This platform will help leverage the sheer strength and scope of our industry, address potential shortfalls in near real time, and allow medtech innovators to respond to ever-changing needs with lightning speed,” said AdvaMed president and CEO Scott Whitaker in a statement.

NSF International Honors Scientific Leaders and Innovators in the Fight against COVID-19
NSF International this month announced a new digital campaign that serves to honor individuals and institutions that have demonstrated "scientific or technical leadership and innovation" in the fight against COVID-19. Short video stories demonstrate 10 exceptional leaders and innovators from a range of industries in North America and Europe who have used their talents for diverse and critical activities, from designing and manufacturing ventilators, masks, and PPE to coordinating clinical trials for COVID-19 therapeutics and vaccines.
“We want to recognize the extraordinary efforts of NSF clients who have performed heroic acts across the scientific and business communities to fight the spread of COVID-19 and the economic challenges the pandemic has brought on our communities,” said Colette LaForce, chief marketing pfficer at NSF International, in a company statement. “These inspirational stories reflect a range of efforts from organizations that are actively applying COVID-19 controls in novel ways.”
