It's often said that challenges are a springboard for opportunity, and we've certainly all had some bounces the past few years. But on behalf of everyone at ANSI, we are incredibly proud of the resiliency, responsiveness, and innovative changes happening at ANSI and across our community to meet the needs of an evolving standards landscape, nation, and world.
It's a tall order! But we're highly energized as we discover new ways to work more effectively and efficiently, to strengthen our impact in diverse areas of standardization activity, and to build even stronger partnerships across sectors. To make the most of this time of transformation—and get it right—we're taking a very strategic approach. ANSI's Board of Directors has recently launched four Board Focus Groups on the Evolving Standards Landscape, assessing needs and recommending solutions in these priority areas:
The Focus Groups' recommendations are one path we're taking to meet the changing needs of the standardization community and help bolster our collective impact—but we wouldn't be ANSI without relying on a multiple-path approach! We're already making great strides in modernizing, expanding, and evolving our initiatives and operations to provide more effective solutions for emerging areas and continual innovation.
This Annual Report, "Building for the Future," reflects that commitment to strategically positioning ANSI not just to address today's priorities, but for the evolving needs we anticipate tomorrow. And it's an appropriate debut of our first interactive web-based Annual Report, as digitalization and ease of information access are increasingly vital. We invite you to take a spin though the report for select highlights of ANSI and our affiliates' progress in diverse program areas, and how we're setting the groundwork for greater impact ahead. One thing you'll notice throughout these and all of ANSI's activities is a consistent thread of partnership and collaboration. We're extremely grateful for the commitment and participation of our members, partners, volunteer experts, and dedicated stakeholders across the standardization community—at the very core of everything we do. And special thanks also go to all of the Officers and Members of the ANSI Board of Directors for their wisdom and guidance, and to our exceptional staff for turning innovative ideas into reality as we bound ahead to a future of success.
