Once your application has been received and is confirmed as complete, ANSI will place an announcement in Standards Action stating that your application for accreditation of a U.S. TAG and approval as TAG Administrator and proposed procedures are available for public review and comment. Any interested party has the right to submit comments, and the applicant will be required to respond (as detailed in Step 5) before the application can proceed through the accreditation process.
Your submitted application contains the details you provided on how the public can obtain a copy of your application (including proposed operating procedures, scope, and initial TAG membership list) and submit comments. This information will be included in the Standards Action announcement. With the publication of that announcement, be sure those materials are available upon request to any interested party in the manner you indicated, and that you are prepared to receive comments.
Written comments received during an open public comment period must be given prompt consideration and an effort made to resolve any objections. Each commenter must be given a written response, including the disposition of any objections and the reasons for that disposition. All of this documentation must be provided to ANSI before the application can proceed through the remainder of the accreditation process.

Public review is one of the fundamental ways in which due process is achieved. Due process means that any person with a direct and material interest has a right to express a position and have that position considered, allowing for equity, consistency, and fair play. Standards Action is ANSI's key public review vehicle, distributed freely to support due process in U.S. standardization system.
