Raising Awareness of Weatherization Careers, IREC Launches Green Workforce Connect Web Platform

1/26/2024

The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) has launched Green Workforce Connect, a web platform that serves to raise awareness of weatherization careers and connect job seekers, students, and contractors with local training providers and employers.

“Weatherization jobs are vital for our transition to a clean energy future, yet weatherization employers face a continual struggle to fill their open positions. With support from the U.S. Department of Energy and a nationwide coalition of partners, IREC is developing a vast array of new resources to help weatherization employers recruit effectively and increase awareness of the benefits of weatherization careers,” IREC reported in the project announcement, noting that the materials aim to support the hiring of a new generation of home energy professionals, including individuals from underrepresented communities.
