IEEE recently conducted a survey of technology leaders on their predictions and priorities for technologies in 2023 and beyond.

“The Impact of Technology in 2023 and Beyond: an IEEE Global Study” indicated that the most important areas of technology in 2023 for leaders surveyed are cloud computing, 5G, metaverse, electric vehicles (EVs), and the Internet of Things (IoT). Top industry sectors predicted to be impacted by technology in the coming year are telecommunications, automotive and transportation, energy, and banking and financial services. The survey also indicated that an overwhelming majority—98%—feels that AI-powered autonomous, collaborative software, and mobile robots will automate more processes in 2023, allowing humans to be more efficient and effective.
