RIMS recently published an article in its Risk Management magazine on the legal, reputational, and competitive risks that companies must consider in regards to pay inequity and gender-based discrimination.

The article explores “the Great Reshuffle,” where people who lost or left their jobs during the height of the pandemic are now returning to the workforce while seeking a better work-life balance. However, although more women lost their jobs during the pandemic, fewer women than men are returning the workforce. RIMS details why this may be, legislative action that supports women in the workforce, and risk areas to focus on when it comes to preventing the unequal treatment of women in the workplace. The article concludes with suggestions on how employers can mitigate risk during their recruiting and retention efforts.
