As the U.S. member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ANSI encourages its constituents to review a draft proposal for a new ISO Technical Committee (TC) on Fundamentals of Services and submit comments to ANSI by January 24, 2025.
BIS (the ISO member for India) has submitted the draft proposal to ISO with the following scope:
Standardization of generic and fundamental aspects of services including, but not limited to, terminology, classification, human skills, planning, contracts, agreement, delivery modes, performance, measurements, monitoring, analytics, security, customer expectation, and other related aspects of services.
Excluded:
As part of the current ISO Technical Management Board (TMB) process for considering proposals for new areas of ISO work, such proposals are circulated to ISO/TMB members for an initial commenting period. This is intended to provide the proposer with some input to potentially improve the proposal before it is circulated for formal approval.
View the draft proposal for further information on the proposed TC. Attached to the proposal is a document by ISO staff assessing the relationship of this proposal to existing ISO committees and projects.
ANSI constituents are encouraged to submit comments to Steven Cornish, ANSI senior director of international policy and strategy ([email protected]) by close of business on Friday, January 24, 2025. All input received will be used to develop the ANSI representative input to the ISO/TMB.
