Microchat on the Changing Nature of Assessments and Credential Innovation in Higher Education
Workcred, together with PDRI by Pearson, will host a webinar that will delve into the changing nature of assessments for both technical and non-technical skills.
The virtual event will cover how the private sector and governments are using assessment as part of their hiring process. It will also examine how assessments are different and/or complement assessments used by certification bodies.

Workcred to Present at 2024 Convergence: Credential Innovation in Higher Education
Also in September, Workcred will join as promotional partner for the UPCEA and AACRAO conference, 2024 Convergence: Credential Innovation in Higher Education.
Workcred’s executive director Roy Swift will present during the October 1 session, “Bringing Trusted Credential Insights into Focus,” to examine the launch of a new nonprofit data trust (founded by Strada Education Foundation) that will deliver actionable insights and bridge the information gap on the impact of industry-based, professional, and workforce credentials, enabling informed decisions and fostering a more transparent and effective education and workforce ecosystem.
During the second session, also on October 1, “Standard Practice for Competency-based Workplace Learning Programs,” Dr. Swift will engage the audience on how they can be a champion for a new standard, ASTM E3416-23: Standard Practice for Competency-based Workplace Learning Programs, which provides instruction for the development and administration of competency-based workplace learning programs.
The event is relevant to stakeholders engaged in credential innovation in the higher education space. The session will offer content for senior leaders responsible for institutional strategy for alternative credentials; other administrators working in the space; and registrars and other related professionals.
