The U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day (WSD) Planning Committee is pleased to announce that various sponsorship opportunities are now available for the 2024 celebration of WSD in Washington, DC. The November 14 celebration will feature extensive networking opportunities and lively interactions among members of the standardization community. The program will also honor the Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership Award recipient and the winner of the WSD Paper Competition.
What is the U.S. Celebration of WSD?
A joint effort between the private and public sectors, the U.S. Celebration of WSD is an annual event recognizing the critical role of various stakeholders across the standards community, including business leaders, industry, academia, and government. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) serve as co-chairs of the U.S. Celebration of WSD Planning Committee. The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) is serving as the 2024 administrating organization.
Each year, the U.S. Celebration of WSD features a theme relevant to the broader community and its priorities. The 2024 celebration focuses on Shared Vision for a Better World: Standards for the Changing Climate, encouraging the standards community to reflect on how we can achieve more through collaborative standardization efforts, developing solutions for complex global environmental challenges.
The celebration—to be held at the National Housing Center (NHC)—will highlight how working together can counter the negative impacts of climate change for a better, more resilient, and more equitable world for the next generation.
The registration deadline is October 14.
