People on the Move

3/05/2021

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced several changes to their senior leadership.

Todd Manuel has been welcomed as a loaned leader from Entergy to serve as EEI’s vice president, diversity, equity, and inclusion transformation. He will work with EEI and member companies to advance the industry’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative. At Entergy, Mr. Manuel is director of organizational health and diversity, where he develops and leads the company’s strategy for improving organizational health, diversity, and inclusion, as well as ensures their compliance with all requirements of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

“I am excited to welcome Todd to this new role at EEI,” said EEI President Tom Kuhn. “Todd’s experience and leadership will be incredibly valuable to our EEI team and to our member companies as we work to advance our industry’s DEI initiative, increasing workforce diversity and helping to shape our industry’s long-term strategy for sustained DEI commitment. Todd also will serve as an internal resource as we work to foster a more diverse and inclusive environment across EEI.”

EEI also announced several promotions:

Emily Sanford Fisher has been promoted to general counsel, corporate secretary and senior vice president, clean energy. Ms. Fisher joined EEI in 2008 and has headed its legal department since 2017, and will continue to do so in her new role. She will also oversee and coordinate strategic clean energy engagement across EEI and across the federal government.

Adam Benshoff has been named vice president, regulatory affairs. Mr. Benshoff has been with EEI since 2015. He oversees their engagement and strategy on economic regulatory issues before both FERC and state public utility commissions, and also co-leads EEI’s cross functional state practice that focuses on emerging industry policy trends on key topics.

Terri Oliva has been promoted to vice president and chief human resources officer. She joined the organization in 2009, and leads their internal human resources department and facility operations. Ms. Oliva also heads EEI’s external engagement with member company chief human resources officers, industry DEI initiatives, and the supplier diversity program.

Brad Viator is now EEI’s vice president, external affairs. Mr. Viator joined EEI in 2011, working with outreach to state elected officials, including state legislators, governors, and attorneys general. He also manages the organization’s online advocacy community, and co-leads its cross functional state practice with Mr. Benshoff.

“I am pleased to announce the promotions of Adam, Emily, Terri, and Brad,” said Kuhn. “Each manages critical portfolios for EEI and is a major contributor to our overall success. I look forward to their continued leadership and service on behalf of EEI’s member companies and the customers they serve.”
