The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has published an article on attracting the newest generation of talent to the manufacturing industry, highlighting how companies must change their strategies to attract and train the best staff.

“Gen Z prioritizes social activism more than previous generations, reflected in the importance they place on working at organizations whose values align with their own. This generation’s commitment to sustainability extends to their jobs and career choices. They want to work for companies that align with their values and have a positive impact on the environment,” said Dave Bolderoff, customer experience manager with Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts, quoted in the article.

To that end, AEM offers several tips that organizations can take to enhance their sustainable image, including:

• Reevaluate mission and vision statements, and core values.
• Consider what is being done to promote sustainability.
• Capture the good that is being done within the organization (through social media and webpage statements/promotions).
