AAMI eLearning Course Free for Displaced Students of BMET Programs
AAMI, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, is offering a free distance study course for students enrolled in nonprofit biomedical equipment technician (BMET) programs who have been displaced by closures due to COVID-19.

The CBET eLearning Study Course allows students to master six core topic areas with lessons and practice quizzes. Flash cards, schematics and diagrams, and multiple choice questions enhance the user's retention of material in each module. The course is available to students through their training program's facility, and AAMI will provide faculty members with unique access codes for their institution.

ASSP Offers Free Access to Recorded Education Sessions for a Limited Time
The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, is providing free online access to 330 recorded education sessions for a limited time.

With topics including fall protection, fleet safety, health and wellness, personal protective equipment, risk assessment and management, and more, these sessions offer safety professionals a way to engage in on-demand learning and earn continuing education units from home.

"Occupational safety and health professionals are dealing with significant challenges right now in an environment that is changing rapidly," said ASSP president Diana Stegall. "We are simplifying access to safety education so more risk assessments and best practices can be implemented."

IAPMO Seeks Members for UMC A2L Task Group
The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), an ANSI member and audited designator, is seeking technical experts for its Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC) A2L Task Group.

The group's scope includes:

• Developing recommendations to further A2L refrigerants for mechanical systems
• Determining the methods available to address A2L exposure risk to public health and safety
• Expanding on the usage and control of A2L refrigerants associated with mechanical systems and equipment
• Addressing related issues such as flammability risk, toxicity, permissible exposure limit, leak detection systems, chemical compatibility and stability, and maintenance procedures for mechanical systems

Task group members will participate via conference call or web meeting. Recommendations will be forwarded to the UMC Technical Committee for consideration as they develop the 2024 edition of the UMC.

• Robotics and augmented reality will be used readily in warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution centers

• Neurotechnology will improve safety, productivity, and learning in the workplace

Approval of TAG Accreditation, ASABE TAG Administrator
ANSI's Executive Standards Council (ExSC) has formally approved the accreditation of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 326, Machinery intended for use with foodstuffsand the appointment of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE)an ANSI member and accredited standards developer,as TAG Administrator, effective April 24, 2020.

The TAG will operate under the Model Operating Procedures for U.S. Technical Advisory Groups to ANSI for ISO Activities as contained in Annex A of the ANSI International Procedures.
