4-5
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), together with the U.S. National Committee (USNC) to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), and the German Commission for Electrotechnical, Electronic, and Information Technologies of DIN and VDE (DKE) will host a bilateral U.S.-German Standards Roundtable on April 4-5, 2023.
After a four-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral panel is convening to examine current standardization strategies in the U.S. and Europe. Participants will also explore how digitalization will affect the standardization work within standards committees, and the future format and use of standards deliverables.
To accommodate broad stakeholder input, sessions will include hybrid panels and face-to-face discussions at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Sessions on April 4 will include in-person discussions on artificial intelligence (AI) and climate change. Outcomes of these sessions will then be exchanged and summarized during an in-person standards panel on April 5. The sessions are supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Access the U.S.-German Standards Panel flyer.
