John Hoffman of the Food Protection and Defense Institute offers insights into the factors that impact cyber systems in this sector, including regulatory and food safety requirements, and the scale of consolidation within food processing in the U.S. Cyberattacks in the food industry have progressed over the years from intrusions that disrupt operations, to those that steal intellectual property like recipes, vendor and customer lists, and employee information.
