The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) and ASHRAE have announced that they will co-publish a document on water efficiency in buildings.
The document will combine two references that offer water efficiency guidance: ASHRAE 191P, Standard for the Efficient Use of Water in Building Mechanical Systems, which provides minimum requirements for the design of building mechanical systems that limit the volume of water required to operate HVAC systems, and WE-Stand, IAPMO’s Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard that addresses safe and efficient water use in both residential and non-residential buildings.
The document will be available following the 2023 WE-Stand development process. See ASHRAE and IAPMO’s news release for more information.
