The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) recently announced the appointment of Alexa Lopez as its vice president of communications and public affairs, a newly created position.

Previously, Lopez led all strategic communications and public affairs efforts at the Transportation Security Administration, where she was principal communications adviser to the TSA administrator on all external and internal communications for four years. Additionally, she served in key public affairs roles at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Ogilvy Public Relations, and the City of Bloomington, Indiana.

“Alexa knows how to navigate complex challenges, craft compelling narratives, and drive real impact,” said NAM president and CEO Jay Timmons. “She has built a career on delivering results, and manufacturers will benefit from her ability to elevate our industry’s voice at a time when manufacturers’ influence on the future has never been more important. She will be a strong champion for the policies that power innovation, create jobs, and keep manufacturing in America strong.”

Lopez holds a master of public affairs and a master of arts in arts administration from the Indiana University O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) has announced the appointment of Meri Beth Wojtaszek as executive director.

"I am excited to join 3-A SSI and work alongside its dedicated team, volunteers, and member organizations," said Wojtaszek. "The organization's commitment to advancing food safety through equipment standards and design criteria is more important than ever, and I look forward to building on its strong foundation to create new opportunities for growth and impact in the food and beverage industries."
