Happening This Week! Join ANSI at the 2024 U.S.-Korea Standards Forum in Washington, D.C.

6/24/2024

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) will co-host the hybrid 2024 U.S.-Korea Standards Forum on Friday, June 28, with in-person attendance at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The annual forum is a valuable platform for leaders and subject-matter experts across industries, government, and academia from both countries to enhance mutual understanding, exchange expertise and best practices, and develop future cooperation.

In-person and virtual attendees can register here.

The forum provides a unique opportunity for U.S. experts and Korean executives and officials to discuss standards across a range of sectors, identifying challenges and areas of potential collaboration in emerging technologies. This year’s forum will feature technical presentations and breakout sessions on the following strategic areas:

  • Neuromorphic and bio-semiconductors, as well as trust and sustainability in the supply chain
  • Artificial intelligence governance mechanisms and the work of JTC 1/SC42
  • Green energy and carbon neutrality through the lenses of IEC TC 82, IEC TC 114, and the IECRE; additional discussion on marine power, green buildings, sustainable aviation fuel, and whole life carbon measurement and verification
  • Post-quantum cryptography and discussions from JTC 3 and IEC SEG 14
  • Unmanned aircraft, electric vehicle (EV)/intelligent connected vehicle (ICV)/intelligent transportation systems, and mobile robotics
  • Personal digital identity and e-labeling

In-person attendance allows for rich networking opportunities, potential follow-up meetings, and engagement with an impressive range of U.S. and Korean movers and shakers from both the public and private sectors. Participants who attend in person are also invited to attend a special session on standards education following a networking lunch.

Participants can find a more detailed agenda, directions to the event location, and bios of the speakers on the event website.
