The European Commission (EC) has opened a public consultation on the revision of Regulation 1025/2012, seeking to evaluate the European standardization system, identify shortcomings in existing legislation, and support development of the future European standardization system. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will develop a coordinated response to this public consultation.
ANSI’s International Policy Advisory Group (IPAG) will establish an ad hoc group (AHG) to work with ANSI staff in considering inputs and developing the coordinated response. This is intended to build on the response ANSI gave on behalf of its members to the EC’s September 2023 call for evidence on Regulation 1025/2012.
ANSI members and constituents are encouraged to submit their input for consideration by the AHG to Steven Cornish, ANSI senior director, international policy and strategy, ([email protected]) by June 28, 2024.
The draft response will be circulated to the full IPAG membership for comments before being finalized and submitted to the EC.
