Explore current standardization strategies in the U.S. and Europe and find out how digitalization will affect standardization work at the bilateral U.S.-German Standards Panel on April 4-5, 2023. Hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), together with the U.S. National Committee (USNC) to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), and the German Commission for Electrotechnical, Electronic, and Information Technologies of DIN and VDE (DKE), the event will take place at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, with virtual participation also available.

Day One: April 4, 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. ET
Attendees will examine current standardization strategies in the U.S. and Europe, assess how digitalization will affect standards development work, and look at the format and use of smart standards deliverables during the hybrid (virtual and in-person) morning session on April 4. The afternoon session will feature parallel sessions with in-person participation only, and cover the topics of artificial intelligence (AI), climate change, and related standardization issues.
Day Two: April 5, 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. ET
The hybrid morning session will cover reports of the two April 4 afternoon sessions and explore U.S.-German cooperative efforts in these areas.
