Sponsorship Opportunities Available for World Standards Day Fall and Spring Events!

1/28/2022

The U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day (WSD) Planning Committee is pleased to announce sponsorship opportunities for the 2022 World Standards Day spring and fall events. A joint effort between the private and public sectors, the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day (WSD) is an annual event recognizing the critical role of various stakeholders across the standards community, including business leaders, industry, academia, and government.

World Standards Day Spring Event: Standards for Sustainable Development Goals

The spring World Standards Day event (originally scheduled for October 2021) will highlight the theme, Standards for Sustainable Development Goals, and will be held in-person on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will serve as the Administrating Organization.

The World Standards Day theme for the May event recognizes the crucial role that standardization plays in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals – especially Goal 11, to “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” – and the partnerships and collaborations critical to achieving that vision.

The May event will also include the presentation of the Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership Award to Ernest Grant, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, and current president of the American Nurses Association. In addition, the winners of the World Standards Day Paper Competition will be announced.

World Standards Day Fall Event

The Fall 2022 U.S. WSD celebration will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022, as an in-person event in Washington, DC, with the International Code Council (ICC) serving as the administrating organization. As with the May event, the October celebration will include the presentation of the Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership award, and the winners of the World Standards Day Paper Competition will also be announced. Additional details about these, as well as the theme for the October event are forthcoming.

Access sponsorship opportunities on the World Standards Day event webpage.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) serve as co-chairs of the U.S. Celebration of WSD Committee.
