The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) will host a webinar that will review the codes and standards affecting the various facilities with many types of batteries. The session will provide an overview of NFPA 855 Chapter 14, as well as requirements found in the 2024 edition of the International Fire and Building Code.
The session, led by speaker Michael O'Brian, fire service expert, will examine code requirements for the manufacture, storage, and testing of lithium-ion batteries in model building codes, and provide an overview of best practices and the role of the FPE in project design and submittal.
