The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has released new resources ahead of Drinking Water Week on May 5-11. The AWWA campaign highlights the value of safe drinking water and recognizes the vital efforts of water professionals.
This year, the celebration coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), which protects public health by regulating the nation’s public drinking water supply.
“Drinking Water Week provides an ideal platform for water utilities to honor the legacy of the SDWA while educating the public, connecting meaningfully with communities, and raising awareness of their essential work,” according to AWWA.
AWWA is offering free downloadable resources to support Drinking Water Week outreach, including logos, local influencer engagement guidance, press release templates, and more, listed on AWWA’s Celebration Ideas webpage. Read more about Drinking Water Week via AWWA’s news announcement.
