U.S. Green Building Council Offers Training for LEED for Cities and Communities Certificate

5/17/2023

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is offering a free two-day online training course to obtain a certificate in LEED for Cities and Communities. The sessions are relevant to professionals working in the fields of the built environment, urban planning, and sustainability, including consultants, government officials, NGO staff, and students.

LEED for Cities and Communities is a response to the need for a flexible, credible, and globally consistent way to communicate continuous urban sustainability performance across an array of objectives and to different types of stakeholders. The system helps local leaders create and operationalize responsible, sustainable, and specific plans for natural systems, energy, water, waste, transportation, and many other factors that contribute to quality of life.

The outcomes of the session include:

  • Two modules of four hours each and two respective online quizzes
  • Two badges for the content: the Rating System Pro and the Certification Process Pro
  • Qualification for eight continuing education credits
  • A LEED for Cities and Communities Pro Training Certificate signed by USGBC president and CEO Peter Templeton
  • Eligibility to apply for one innovation point on any upcoming or ongoing LEED for Cities and Communities project certification

Register for online via USGBC.
