ASIS Invites Security Management Experts to Participate in Standards Development Committees

12/19/2022

ASIS International is encouraging all security professionals to advance the practice of security management by joining a technical committee for standards development in 2023.

Standards committees meet throughout the year and help develop best practices that support the community and profession of security management. Interested stakeholders are invited to apply for the technical committee that matches their specialty:

  • Risk Assessment: provides guidance for conducting risks assessments and applies specifically to security-related risks, which may include physical, non-physical, and logical risks
  • School Security: addresses creating a school security program and developing protective strategies (utilizing physical security principles) for applying physical security measures necessary to support and promote safe educational environments (K-12)
  • Cannabis Security: provides requirements and guidance for the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of a cannabis security program
  • Executive Protection: provides guidance for the assessment of threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to the protected person(s), the identification and justification of protective services, and delivery of support based on industry-driven guidance
