The Keck Observatory has released a video detailing the capabilities and uses of the new Keck Discovery Engine.

The advanced tool will combine ultra-wide, ultra-deep imaging with massively multiplexed spectroscopy, with an artificial intelligence layer linking the two. With this technology, Keck will be able to perform the science in a single night that would otherwise take two years. The video describes the transformative capabilities of the Discovery Engine, as well as the results of the Astro2020 survey that will set the path for astronomy in the U.S. in the coming decades.
