SVIA and ROHVA Mark Off-Road Safety Week

10/18/2021

The Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) and the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA) are bringing awareness to the safe use of ATVs, dirt bikes, and side-by-sides for Off-Road Safety Week.

Held this year from October 16-24, the week brings together national off-highway vehicle organizations to offer tips that keep everyone safe. This year’s theme is “Know Before You Go,” and riders are encouraged to know what safety gear they will need, what terrain is at their destination, what supplies they should bring, and the condition of their vehicle.

“Off-Road Safety Week is a great opportunity for new riders and drivers to learn how to safely and responsibly use their off-road vehicles, and for current users to refresh their skills,” said Jun Villegas, SVIA field operations manager. “In California, free classes are being offered through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s DirtBike School, the ATV Safety Institute, and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association. We are also proud to work with Tread Lightly! to extend the reach of our safety messages to all OHV users.”
