The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) has launched a new podcast through its Healthcare Practice Specialty division.

The “Healthbeat Podcast” will provide information for Occupational Safety and Health professionals, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders interested in workplace safety in the healthcare industry. Episodes will have varying formats including panel discussions, human interest pieces, and open discussions, with topics including hazards and best practices, the experiences of different safety professionals, ASSP activities and current events, and more.

Dr. Cory Worden, host of the podcast, described some of the episodes recorded so far: "We've had really fun episodes with healthcare leaders such as Holly Bollin and Dr. Bird, the team at Akron Children's Hospital discussing ergonomics; ASSP leaders such as Brandon Hody, our public sector practice specialty administrator; and safety professionals such as Dr. Amber Mitchell discussing needlestick prevention and bloodborne pathogen exposure prevention, and an upcoming episode with Dave Thomas of REPSS discussing respiratory protection.”
