The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) will observe National Groundwater Awareness Week (GWAW) on March 7-13.

Established in 1999, this annual observance brings attention to the responsible development, management, and use of groundwater. GWAW activities and materials also encourage yearly water well testing and well maintenance, as well as the promotion of policies that impact groundwater quality and supply.

During the week, NGWA plans to run a social media campaign to promote educational and advocacy opportunities, as well as offer free materials that include state-by-state groundwater fact sheets, groundwater FAQs, and tools to get students involved.
