The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites its members to recommend qualified candidates for membership on the Institute's Policy Advisory Groups (PAGs) and Committee on Education (CoE). All nominations must be received by ANSI by the deadline on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Individuals selected as voting members of these groups will have a three-year term, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023. ANSI members are invited to nominate (1) voting representative and one (1)non-voting representative in addition to or in lieu of the designated voting member.
ANSI's updated By-Laws, which went into effect on January 1, 2020, clarify that the PAGS are advisory in nature and that their members are not fiduciaries, but reconfirm their continued importance to ANSI in developing ANSI policy positions on international, national, and IP-related issues.

About ANSI PAGs
The International Policy Advisory Group (IPAG) shall provide views and propose policies regarding regional and international standards and conformity assessment issues, including related public policy issues. The IPAG shall respond to requests for input from time to time from the Board, Executive Committee, Committees of ANSI, Forums and other PAGs.
The National Policy Advisory Group (NPAG) shall provide views and propose policies regarding national standards and conformity assessment issues, including related public policy issues. The NPAG shall respond to requests for input from time to time from the Board, Executive Committee, Committees of ANSI, Forums and other PAGs.
The Intellectual Property Rights Policy Advisory Group (IPRAG) shall provide views and propose policies regarding the incorporation of essential patents or other proprietary intellectual property (such as trademarks and copyright) in national, regional or international standards. The IPRPAG shall also provide views and propose policies regarding exploitation rights to the copyright in standards and the recognition of copyright protection for standards by courts, legislation, regulatory bodies, industry and others. The IPRPAG shall respond to requests for input from time to time from the Board, Executive Committee, Committees of ANSI, Forums and other PAGs.
About the ANSI Committee on Education (CoE)
The ANSI Committee on Education oversees all Institute initiatives related to standards and conformity assessment education and outreach, fulfills the objectives of the United States Standards Strategy (USSS), and responds to other issues that may be delegated by the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, or the National Policy Advisory Group.
