ANSI Federation Members Support Health and Building Safety with COVID-19 Resources

The ANSI Federation and standardization community are stepping up with guidance, resources, and initiatives to support public health, safety, and infrastructure during the COVID-19 outbreak. CSA Group Opens No-Fee View Access to Relevant Standards, Provides Health Care Safety Research Papers

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group) has made a selection of standards relevant to the COVID-19 response available for no-fee view access through its online platform CSA Communities. For more information about the available standards, visit the CSA Group website.

ICC Launches Webinar Series to Support Building Safety Professionals

The International Code Council (ICC) has launched a webinar series to support building safety professionals coping with the challenges brought on by COVID-19. "The Code Council is committed to ensuring that building safety professionals around the world are supported during these challenging times," said Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO. "We offer the resources to assist building and fire departments in the transition to virtual operations, helping these essential professionals elevate and streamline building safety services within the digital landscape in the time of social distancing and into the future."

ISEA Offers Complimentary Access to ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2010 for Personal Eye and Face Protection

The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) has created a created a public health page on its website with access to ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2010, American National Standard for Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection. The standard has been cited by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in procurement guidelines for critical items, including face shields and goggles. FEMA's requisition specifies that products under consideration meet the requirements of the American National Standard. ISEA is providing complimentary access to assist manufacturers and others who are seeking information on the standard.

UL Provides Access to Standards to Support Healthcare, Air Ventilation, and Building Materials

To support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) will provide access to several pertinent standards, available upon request. The standards support the essential services involved in responding to COVID-19, such as healthcare facilities and workers, laboratory testing, manufacturers, and the general public. The standards also relate to building materials and air ventilation, for temporary housing of patients. The standards documents are available via the Digital View function (which allows registered users to view a digital copy of documents at no cost) on shopulstandards.com.
