OASIS, a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that Guy Martin is its new executive director. As executive director, Mr. Martin will support the organization's technical agenda encompassing cybersecurity, privacy, blockchain, cryptography, cloud computing, IoT, emergency management, mobility data, and more. He will also work to advance the OASIS standards portfolio and extend the Open Projects program.
Mr. Martin comes to OASIS with 25 years of software experience. He has worked extensively in helping to build open source programs for companies including Red Hat, Samsung, and Autodesk. Mr. Martin also played a key role in starting the Academy Software Foundation (ASWF) and the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF). He is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in technology.

"Guy Martin has the vision and experience to lead our organization into new opportunities, enhancing our core services while remaining true to our culture of respect and our philosophy of openness and transparency."
WellSpan Health, an ANSI member, has appointed P. Geoffrey Nicholson, Jr., MD, as its new senior vice president for population health. In this role, Dr. Nicholson will oversee the development, planning, and execution of WellSpan's value-based strategy. He will also provide physician leadership for the WellSpan Provider Network and Population Health Services Board of Directors, and lead the organization's efforts in overall population health, risk contracting, case management, and continuing care.
Dr. Nicholson has been with WellSpan for 18 years, most recently serving as vice president and chief medical information officer since 2011. He was the lead executive for Project One, a multi-year effort to integrate WellSpan's electronic health systems to one common platform. He also led the organization's achievement of recognition for adoption and utilization of electronic health records. Previously, Dr. Nicholson held the roles of hospital informatics specialist and hospitalist physician at WellSpan.
"Geoff's leadership and innovation for nearly 20 years at WellSpan has fortified this organization as a trusted partner in our communities," said John Porter, executive vice president and chief operating officer for WellSpan Health. "He has cultivated a stronger, more efficient health system and will apply his experience to enhancing data-driven approaches for healthier outcomes."
Women in Standards has announced the addition of Veronica A. Lancaster to its Board of Directors. Ms. Lancaster was elected by the membership to serve in the role of Membership Representative, and the Women in Standards Board confirmed the appointment on July 8, 2020.
"The Board is delighted to welcome Veronica as a Board member," said Women in Standards President Karin Athanas. "Ensuring representation of the membership on the Board is a critical next step in the organization's development and we look forward to working with Veronica to offer our community the services and resources they need. Veronica's expertise in standards development and leadership are so valuable and we are very happy to have her."
Women in Standards is a nonprofit membership society, whose mission is "To develop and promote a diverse ecosystem of standards development participants." The WomeninStandards.org website includes educational resources on topics such as standards development and standardization, conformity assessment, and professional development. Women in Standards provides a community for standards developers and contributors to come together to grow and strengthen the field and promote issues of inclusion and diversity.
