ANSI is pleased to announce the release of the updated United States Standards Strategy
(USSS), which provides a vision for the future of the U.S. standards system. The USSS describes the
principles and tactics that guide how the United States develops standards and
participates in the international standards-setting process.
The ANSI Federation and standardization community are stepping up with guidance, resources, and initiatives to support public health, safety, and infrastructure during the COVID-19 outbreak. In this issue:
- ICC and National Environmental Health Association Launch Pandemics Task Force to Help Prepare Buildings and Communities for Disease-Related Threats
- NAM is Preparing Manufacturers for a Possible Emergency Temporary Standard
Nominations for the ANSI 2020-2021
Leadership and Service Awards are due by February 15, 2021.
Awardees will be recognized at an awards ceremony to be held on October 27,
2021, at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), a wholly owned subsidiary of ANSI, has announced that it will provide new and improved courses in 2021, and will continue to provide live online training.
Amid a costly 2020 for the U.S. amid a new report citing record breaking natural disasters, ANSI takes a closer look at how standards can support national disaster preparedness.
People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level
trail-blazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization,
contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and
conformance community. In this issue: IAPMO
has announced several additions and changes to its staff:
- Gaby Davis has been promoted to chief
administrative officer from her previous position.
- Tom Palkon has been promoted to the role of
chief technical services officer.
- Tony Marcello has been promoted to senior vice
president of training and credentialing services.
- D.J. Nunez has been promoted to the role of
senior vice president of field services.
- Christopher Lindsay has been promoted to vice
president of government relations.
- Christoph Lohr has joined IAPMO as vice
president of strategic initiatives.
