ANSI looks back at some of the highlights in international and domestic news that capture how progress in standardization and ANSI affiliate efforts are positioning the U.S. for a brighter future. From 5G, additive manufacturing, and commercial space industry activities to workforce credentials, we've provided a roundup of over 400 ANSI headlines published in 2020.
ANSI encourages relevant stakeholders to register by March 25, 2021, for two workshops to develop an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Workshop Agreement on guidelines for cloud kitchen service, which is increasing in popularity as more restaurant customers dine at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual workshop meeting dates are April 12-15 and June 21-23.
ANSI and its Procedures and Standards Administration (PSA) department wish to remind all ANSI-Accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) administrators to ISO activities that a response to the recently distributed e-mail that contained the 2021 Procedural Compliance Form/2020 TAG Annual Report Notice must be returned no later than February 1, 2021, to the ANSI PSA department. As no changes were made to the 2019 ANSI International Procedures, the 2019 edition remains in effect in 2021.
Feedback will support the U.S. Department of Transportation effort for the establishment and curation of a library of existing technical specifications, voluntary consensus or consortia standards, and best practices and a roadmap of such resources to enable accessibility of automated vehicles for persons with physical, sensory, and cognitive disabilities. Feedback is requested by January 20, 2021 by 5 p.m.
The ANSI Federation and standardization community are stepping up with guidance, resources, and initiatives to support public health, safety, and infrastructure during the COVID-19 outbreak. ANSI is monitoring, sharing, and promoting appropriate news to highlight these efforts. In this issue:

The Italian government recently announced that they will
pledge 10 million Euros towards restoring the Roman Colosseum's amphitheater with a new,
retractable floor that features replicas of trapdoors, lifts, and other
elements from the Colosseum’s former glory. The restored arena will be used for
