Global Task Force on Pandemic Response Launches to Address COVID-19 Surges around the Globe

Launched in May, the Global Task Force on Pandemic Response, a U.S.-based public-private partnership organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Business Roundtable, is a unified effort for businesses to mobilize and deliver resources to relieve surges of COVID-19 across the globe. The task force was launched to support COVID-19 response amid rising case counts in India and around the world.

Steering Committee members, who provide leadership and guidance on the Task Force’s activities, include leaders representing several ANSI member companies, including Amazon (Web Services), Apple, Bank of America, FedEx, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, MasterCard, Microsoft, PepsiCo, and UPS, among others.

In India, where more than 400,000 new COVID-19 cases are being reported daily, efforts will include three immediate goals:

  • sourcing, shipping and delivering 1,000 Puritan Bennett™ ventilators urgently needed by healthcare facilities across India
  • delivering 25,000 oxygen concentrators to India by the end of May, with transportation support from FedEx
  • creating the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) India Action Group to provide ideas and practical information to CHROs to help people in India.

The coalition of leading companies, non-profits and associations have united to support these actions.
